Tube End Forming Machine Building & Tooling

Wauseon Machine and Manufacturing, Inc. started as a small contract machine shop in 1983. Incorporated in 1984, and now in our fourth decade, we offer those same services today in Plant 1, where we specialize in build-to-print tooling, prototypes, and precision machining. Our equipment capabilities include turning, milling, grinding, and EDM for producing punches, pins, rollers, blocks, cams, and mold details among other precision tools and die parts. Over our first twenty years of steady growth and continuous improvement, a focus group evolved now in Plant 2 that is dedicated to tool development, machine building, and automation. In 2001, we became an exclusive Authorized System Integrator of FANUC Robotics. Today, we are a Level IV Certified Servicing Integrator and Certified Vision Specialist. We continue to grow into new, emerging industries, while staying true to our roots in the metal fabrication industry. Industries we serve include aerospace and defense, appliance, automotive, general industry, glass, heavy truck, HVAC, life sciences, and wood products. The most recent expansion of our business is the third focus group in Plant 3, providing CNC Contract Machining of mid to high volumes (30,000 - 250,000 EAU) from a large variety of materials. Some examples include fittings, spacers, bosses, tappet bodies, rollers, and valve bodies. We also perform secondary machining on castings, forgings, stampings, and molded parts. Wauseon Machine is ISO 9001:2008 Registered.

Simulating a robotic workcell
Not so long ago, setting up a robotic work cell was a trial-and-error affair. However, advances in simulation technology allow manufacturers to visualize a robotic work cell and sort out any problems before setting up the cell. Simulating the work cell's function helps to ensure the cell will yield the desired results and helps prevent costly mistakes and re-engineering.

Making the connection
Hundreds of types of machined end connectors are used to transmit fluid in fabricated tube and hose assemblies. In recent years manufacturers and end users of these connectors have been developing new methods and processes that eliminate machined connectors and the associated joining operation. Eliminating connectors and joining operations can help save both money and time.
