ABB to expand in Tennessee

Power and automation technology provider ABB will invest $30 million in building a new manufacturing site and expanding its customer experience center for its Low Voltage Products division in the Memphis, Tenn., area.

The investment will initially create more than 200 jobs, with 100 more jobs expected to be added over the next five years. The new facility, at more than 120,000 sq. ft., will assemble low-voltage products, including the Emax2 breaker and power manager, as well as other breakers, switches, power distribution systems, modular enclosure and DIN rail products, and control products.

The firm also will invest in a new customer experience center at its existing Memphis location. The training suite will be upgraded to accommodate the requirements of its expanding product portfolio and offer technical support and training.
