Hobart Brothers' vice president retires

Hobart Brothers Co., Troy, Ohio, has announced that Gene Sabel, vice president of sales, has retired after more than 40 years of service in the welding industry.

Sabel made his start in 1963 at A.O. Smith Corp.'s Welding Products Div. under Marquette University's cooperative education program. A.O. Smith later became Alloy Rods Corp., and for 30 years Sabel served in many capacities, from sales engineer to director of sales. Sabel was hired as vice president of sales at Hobart Brothers in 1993.

Hobart Brothers Co. is a manufacturer of welding filler metals marketed under the brand names Hobart, Tri-Mark, McKay, and Corex.
