SPI acquires JK Lasers

SPI Lasers, a member of the TRUMPF Group, has acquired Rugby, U.K.-based JK Lasers, a manufacturer of fiber lasers for industrial use and former member of the GSI Group.

JK Lasers has more than 40 years’ experience in laser development. Its core competence is in fiber lasers with outputs from 100 W to 4 kW as well as combiners for joining laser sources and other beam guidance components.

The Rugby facility, which is located only a few hours’ drive from SPI’s Southampton headquarters, will act as an additional production and development center for fiber lasers and optical components.
