Serapid hires engineering manager

Serapid Inc., Sterling Heights, Mich., a supplier of linear-motion technologies, has hired Robert C. Adams Jr. as engineering manager and chief engineer. In this position, he leads the engineering team, provides project management, and heads up new product development.

In his career of more than 25 years in manufacturing, Adams has specialized in engineering the development of new processes and technologies in material handling. He has an extensive background in automated transfer systems design.

Before joining Serapid, Adams was the founder of Tribis Eng. Inc., an automated test systems manufacturer and testing laboratory. He served 13 years as engineering manager at Welker Bearing Co. and worked as R&D engineer at Beaver Precision Products.

Adams has bachelor's and master's degrees in mechanical engineering and currently is a Ph.D. candidate in mechanical engineering.
