Bohler-Uddeholm adds edge wire capacity

Bohler-Uddeholm Corp., Elgin, Ill., has announced the expansion of the high-speed-steel edge wire capacity at its South Boston, Va., manufacturing facility. This project, scheduled for completion in mid-2013, will more than double the edge wire capacity at the plant. Edge wire is a specialized high-speed-steel wire used in the production of band saw blades and reciprocating saw blades.

Bohler-Uddeholm is part of the Special Steel Division of the Voestalpine Group, Linz, Austria.
