Valmont Coatings Division receives two awards for galvanizing

Valmont Industries Inc., Omaha, Neb., a provider of engineered products and services for infrastructure and mechanized irrigation equipment for agriculture, has announced that its Coatings Division has received two Awards for Excellence in Hot Dip Galvanizing from the American Galvanizers Association. The division also received the association’s Most Distinguished honor for the San Diego Central Library project.

In the electrical, utility, and communication category, Columbia Galvanizing, Valmont's facility in South Carolina, was recognized for its submission of the wind turbine testing facility project at Clemson University. In the recreation and entertainment category, Valmont Coatings’ Tampa Galvanizing facility was recognized for its galvanizing work on Gulfstream Park's horse stalls project in Hallandale Beach, Fla.

The Most Distinguished award was shared by two of Valmont Coatings' facilities: Calwest Galvanizing of Long Beach, Calif., and Intermountain Galvanizing of Lindon, Utah. The 497,000-sq.-ft., nine-story library features an exposed, galvanized arched domed terrace.
