Roll-Kraft installs measuring arm

Roll-Kraft has announced the addition of a Faro Edge measuring arm to the inspection area at its Mentor, Ohio, roll tooling manufacturing facility.

Often customers need a new roll but have no prints or drawings to use for manufacturing. The measuring arm uses reverse engineering to analyze the needed data and develop an accurate drawing. The arm also is used to inspect tube and pipe and roll forming rolls coming to the company for reconditioning. The unit obtains measurements and downloads the information electronically for use by the engineering team to determine wear patterns and out-of-spec areas.
