AME annual conference focuses on lean manufacturing, improvement

The annual conference of the Association for Manufacturing Excellence (AME), Arlington Heights, Ill., offers attendees opportunities to learn about lean manufacturing and continuous improvement. The conference is scheduled for Oct. 29 to Nov. 2 at the Chicago Hilton. It is the largest lean manufacturing and continuous improvement conference in North America, according to the organization.

Attendees also receive the opportunity to tour participating manufacturing facilities, such as Abbott Laboratories, Caterpillar, Winzeler Gear, Underwriters Laboratories, and Ford.

Other topics addressed at the conference are new-product development, the extended enterprise, and the environment.

Carrying more than 5,000 members, AME is a nonprofit association working to help companies stay competitive in the global marketplace.
