Sharpe Products installs fiber-optic tube laser

Sharpe Products, a New Berlin, Wis.-based contract manufacturer providing tube bending services, has purchased a BLM fiber-optic tube laser. The addition of the laser complements the company's bending processes using all-electric, CNC tube benders.

This 3,000-W tube laser features increased production speed and the ability to cut copper, brass, bronze, galvanized pipe, and aluminum, in addition to steel and stainless steel. The machine's maximum capacity is 6-in.-OD round tube and 5-in. square tube. It can cut aluminum up to 0.375 in. thick, depending on the tube's OD.
