Winners named in Dayton Progress high school manufacturing competition

Dayton Progress Corp., a supplier of metal stamping and forming tools and accessories in Dayton, Ohio, has named Greene County Career Center as the winner of its Manufacturing Challenge competition aimed at promoting careers in manufacturing to high school students. Located in Xenia, Ohio, GCCC provides 26 career-technical programs to 573 students in fields such as manufacturing and transportation, business and technology, engineering, services, and agriculture.

As the competition winner, GCCC receives a $40,000 grant comprising three new computers with monitors, capacity, and accessories suited for CAD; licenses for CAD software; the cost of training a faculty member in the use of the CAD system; and five $1,000 scholarships for GCCC students to attend Sinclair Community College’s STEP II Program for skilled manufacturing.
