Airbus signs 10-year deal with Plymouth Engineered Shapes

Semifinished titanium airframe extrusion producer Plymouth Engineered Shapes, a part of Plymouth Tube Co., has announced that it has been awarded a new contract from Airbus. The scope of the 10-year agreement includes titanium extrusions that will be used throughout the programs for the A350 XWB, including A350-800, A350-900, and A350-1000.

In support of the contract, Plymouth Engineered Shapes has announced plans for an expansion of its Hopkinsville, Ky., facility, involving a $12.1 million capability and capacity investment.

The company makes extruded stainless, titanium, nickel-alloy, carbon, and carbon-alloy shapes, including net, near-net, and semifinished extrusions.
