Flexible electric gripper designed for universal robots

Robotiq has released a new version of its 2-Finger 85 Adaptive Gripper, with nearly twice the strength and speed as the previous version. The gripper is compatible with universal industrial robots with payloads between 11 and 22 lbs.

The unit handles a variety of part shapes with its different gripping modes. With control over finger force, the user can pick up fragile or brittle items, as well as tough parts.

The manufacturer’s drivers for universal robots have been developed to install automatically; the user plugs a USB drive into the robot’s teaching pendant. The gripper connects directly to the USB port of the robot controller.
