Medium-capacity range multipurpose robot introduced

ABB Robotics has introduced the new IRB 2600, the latest model in its medium-capacity range of multipurpose robots. It features a compact design, an ultrawide working envelope, a payload capacity up to 44.09 lbs., and a total arm weight of less than 661.39 lbs.

Suitable for arc welding applications, the compact, lightweight robot can be mounted on the floor, wall, or shelf. With the widened working envelope, the arm can reach down below its own base, allowing for smaller production cells.

High joint speeds and quick acceleration are achieved by combining new, lightweight mechanical linkages and the company's patented second-generation QuickMove™ motion control technology.
