Mobile welding robot configured for large weldments

The configuration of Servo-Robot’s MWR-350™ mobile welding robot allows it to be brought directly onto large weldments. Typical applications include shipbuilding, earthmoving equipment, large tanks and vessels, and construction.

The robot is equipped with a laser sensing system with video camera embedded and can be operated remotely. According to the manufacturer, the system reduces welder fatigue, moves the welder away from potentially dangerous fumes, and helps the welder product defect-free welds quickly.

The ability to program precise positions and customized weaving patterns allows multipass welds and multiple bead overlays to be done quickly, the company reports.
