Payload increased on arc welding robot

Yaskawa Motoman’s new 6-axis MA2010 arc welding robot features a 22-lb. payload, up from 6.6 lbs. on the previous MA1900 model, as well as a 23 percent larger wrist hole for utilities and a 6 percent longer reach.

The robot, introduced with the DX200 controller, features a new contoured arm structure that reduces interference by enlarging the close-range motion area of the robot, making it suitable for welding large workpieces and reaching over jigs. Its hollow upper arm maintains the optimum bend radius of the welding torch cable. The T axis can rotate the torch ±210 degrees without cable interference.

Floor-, wall-, and ceiling-mounted configurations are available. The robot has a 6.6-ft. horizontal reach, 11.9-ft. vertical reach, and ±0.003-in. repeatability. Integrated, through-the-arm torch cabling eliminates cable interference and helps reduce cable wear.
