Robot designed for cutting, dispensing applications

Yaskawa Motoman has introduced the Motoman® HP20D-A80 robot. Featuring high-precision drives on major axes, it is designed for high-accuracy cutting and dispensing applications. Formcut software automatically generates the path to cut shapes based on user-specified geometry.

Path accuracy can be within 0.004 in., depending on the application. The robot offers a 44.1-lb. payload with a 67.6-in. horizontal reach, a 120.6-in. vertical reach, and ±0.002-in. repeatability.

The control system generates a control signal corresponding to the speed of the robot. When used with dispensing equipment flow controls, it produces a uniform bead on contoured parts.

The compact robot can be floor-, wall-, or ceiling-mounted and has brakes on all axes. It includes collision avoidance features and uses Yaskawa Motoman's DX100 controller that incorporates patented multiple-robot control technology to handle multiple tasks and control up to eight robots (72 axes), I/O devices, and communication protocols.
