Robotic welding system has optional gas, water cooling

Fronius USA has developed the TransSteel Robotics system with optional gas or water cooling for robotic steel welding. The system is compatible with robots produced by leading manufacturers.

Steel transfer technology and a digital inverter power source form the basis of the new robotic welding system. It is available in 350/500 amps at 40 percent duty cycle or 250/360 amps at 100 percent duty cycle.

The system features the Fronius System Connector (FSC), which transfers all the required media for the welding process. The connector's precise current transfer helps ensure process stability, the company states.

With the two-in-one robot interface, users can connect the robot interface to the power source or the wall of the welding cell, for example. Versions that stop and start the arc via an automated interface and transmit analog or digital signals from DeviceNet, CanOpen, and Interbus are available. The push-button Easy Job function saves up to five parameter data records.
