Electrically driven press brake 2.5 times faster than hydraulic brake

Bystronic has introduced the Xcite 80E, a new, electrically driven press brake. The machine is 2.5 times faster than a hydraulic press brake in completing a comparable bend, according to the manufacturer.

Using the Fast Bend+ safety system, the tool can be positioned very close to the metal sheet without placing the operator in danger. The machine switches over to bending speed when it’s ready to process.

The press brake features the company's proprietary Force Dynamic Drive, which provides speed, power, and constant pressure along the entire bending length. This helps ensure that minimal deflections occur in both the upper and lower beam, enabling the machine to bend within a tolerance of ± 25 arc minutes, with a repeatability of ± 0.000098 in.

The machine employs the ByVision Bending control package. Beginners are guided through the programming operation and supported with automated features. The control also allows experienced operators to apply their knowledge and skills while defining their own limits for the bending technology.
