Improvements made to CAM system

Vero Software has made 180 improvements to its Radan CAM system for 2015. The software now creates more compact nests by spreading parts more evenly throughout the sheet and by better using the middle of the sheet material. Additional nesting upgrades include the automatic application of rectangular nesting when appropriate for nearly rectangular parts.

The updated software also offers improved 3-D translation procedures for consistent importing of information. The software’s ability to calculate the thicknesses of imported parts automatically has been redesigned to yield faster and more accurate results, states the company.

An upgrade to automatic face selection enables the feature to be applied to unfolding. It also allows users to specify the top face earlier in the programming process to help ensure the visible face of a part remains scratch-free.
