Abrasive flap discs made for aggressive performance

Weiler has introduced the Tiger Paw™ abrasive flap disc, designed for aggressive performance on edge-grinding applications. The 100 percent zirconium flap disc features high-performance grain and a poly-cotton backing for grain retention, the company reports.

The disc's multiple layers of coated abrasive material expose sharp, fresh grains as they slowly wear away, and the backing prevents premature grain shedding on aggressive applications.

The phenolic-back disc is available in 4.5-, 5-, and 7-in. sizes, with or without a 5/8-11 nut, in Type 29 and 27 standard and Type 27 superhigh-density (4.5- and 7-in. only) configurations. The Type 29 configuration is made for tough, aggressive applications. The superhigh-density Type 27 configuration contains 35 to 40 percent more flaps.

Typical applications include pipe beveling, edge chamfering, weld blending, grinding, deburring, stock removal, surface finishing, and blending.
