Diamond grinding disks suitable for hazardous environment use

CS Unitec's Eco Brazing (EB) diamond grinding disks reduce sparking to 1 percent of that produced by resinoid wheels, reports the company, making the disks suitable for use in hazardous environments such as nuclear plants and oil and gas industries.

The disks are designed to grind steel, stainless steel, and other materials. The diamond grit protrudes higher off the disk than traditional diamond wheels. Available in grits from 30 to 80 on disk sizes of 4 in., 4-1/2 in., 5 in., and 7 in. in diameter, the disks' light weight allows for high-rotation grinding on portable angle grinders. Additionally, their high-yield steel backing plate is elastic, helping to ensure that operators do not grind the material by over-removal.
