Self-sharpening sanding disc provides increased stock removal

Walter Surface Technologies has introduced the Quick-Step XX sanding disc. According to the company, the disc’s removal rate is twice as fast when compared to regular Velcro® and pressure-sensitive adhesive sanding discs. It provides six times the stock removal compared to regular sanding discs, the manufacturer reports.

Designed for a variety of industries such as aerospace, automotive, appliance, and pharmaceutical, the disc employs Cyclone™ technology (a blend of abrasive grains) and a cooling agent to help ensure cool cutting and prevent burning and distortion.

The disc also features self-sharpening grains and a cloth backing designed to resist ripping when catching an edge. Paired with an interface pad, the disc offers flexibility for use on curved surfaces.
