Dual-beam design gives gantry cutting machine strength, narrow footprint

Messer Cutting Systems has introduced the TMC4500 DB heavy-duty gantry cutting machine. Its dual box-beam construction is supported by 10-ft. end trucks for stability and to support the company's largest cutting tools for precision beveling and straight plasma cutting, laser cutting, oxyfuel cutting, marking, grinding, and drilling up to 4-in.-dia. holes.

The dual-beam design allows for the placement of process tools on both beams. In applications requiring a large variety of tools, the cross-axis beam gets wider to accommodate the coverage of each process. The design allows for a narrower footprint by using both front and rear beams necessary to fit within limited workspaces. It also supports a 65-HP drill with a 24-tool changer.
