Surface treatments add wear resistance to complex components

UltraFlex™ wear-resistant surface treatments from Kennametal are designed for components with complex geometries in the power-generation and oil and gas industries. The treatments provide metallurgical-bonded, void-free cladding for critical components in demanding environments. They protect against abrasive, erosive, corrosive, and galling wear on such base materials as carbon and alloy steels, stainless steels, and cobalt and nickel alloys.

The treatments conform to intricate shapes and small IDs and reach remote locations. They can be applied in thicknesses from 0.010 to 0.080 in. Depending on the application, the smooth surface can be used "as applied" or machined to the desired finish.
