Safety light curtain designed for automated material transport areas

SICK Inc. has introduced its C 4000 entry/exit safety light curtain for advanced safety applications. It is designed for use in areas where material is automatically transported into a hazardous zone of a machine and access by workers must be safeguarded, such as assembly lines in the automotive industry and other material handling applications.

The safety light curtain is all-inclusive; it requires no muting sensors, switches, and lamps. It is active with floating blanking technology that enables it to distinguish between workers and materials. The entry/exit uses self-learning technology based on object properties such as width, speed, interobject distance, and number of objects.

The family also includes the micro, basic, standard, and advanced series.
