Double-column mitering band saw designed for structural, solid, and difficult materials

Kalamazoo Machine Tool's model H6A-NC double-column mitering band saw is a fully automatic machine designed for the production of structural, solid, and difficult materials. The machine is fully programmable to enable serial cutting of various lengths, sizes, blade speeds, and quantities and to store jobs for future setups.

The heavy machine columns and base are single-weldment construction. The material feeder is controlled by a variable-speed inverter drive motor that turns a roller ball screw and ball nut with a large number of recirculating ball bearings. This produces a very low friction coefficient and stabilization in both up/down and left/right directions, the manufacturer reports.

The 1.25-in. by 17-ft. 5-in. blade operates at 60 to 360 FPM. Material work height is 32.25 in., with a vise opening of 23.5 in. Capacities are 20 in. at 90 degrees, 17.5 in. at 45 degrees, and 9.5 in. at 60 degrees.
