Basic welding fume filter offers entry-level extraction technology

Kemper America Inc. offers the Smart Master welding fume filter, a mobile suction extractor designed for occasional use and low amounts of dust.

The compact design and rotatable, swiveling exhaust hood enable use in a 360-degree radius, eliminating most adjustments during welding. With its W3 approval, the unit removes carcinogenic substances such as nickel oxides and chromium compounds from the air at more than 99 percent. The purified air can be recycled to the work areas with a W3-certified extraction and filtration device only.

Instead of the exhaust arm, the machine also can be connected by a hose below the welding table, so that the suction of the smoke particles is carried out directly at the source.
