Two-way drum pump vacuums 5 gal. in less than 10 seconds

Exair's new mini reversible Drum Vac system is capable of vacuuming 5 gal. of liquid in less than 10 seconds, states the manufacturer. The pump empties the drum with the turn of a knob, helping eliminate the need for dumping. Users can vacuum coolant, hydraulic oils, spills, sludge, tramp oil, and wastewater and then pump it back out for disposal, storage, or reclamation.
The system uses a two-way stainless steel pump suitable for use with most nonflammable liquids. It is powered by compressed air and has no moving parts such as motors or impellers. An automatic safety shutoff valve prevents overfilling the drum. A built-in pressure/vacuum relief, integral to the muffling body, helps provide safe, quiet operation. Electricity is not required, and air consumption is 19 SCFM at 80 PSIG.
The system includes a lid and locking ring for the drum, a 10-ft. vacuum hose, a 90-degree vacuum hose quick-release elbow, an assortment of tools, and a spill recovery kit. Drums with 55- and 30-gal. capacities also are available.
