Multilayer feeder furnace provides energy-efficient press hardening

AP&T has introduced an energy-efficient, multilayer feeder furnace with automation for press hardening. According to the manufacturer, the furnace reduces heat loss by two-thirds compared to conventional roller hearth furnaces.

The unit has several furnace modules stacked on top of each other. The number of modules can be adjusted based on need. The blanks, which are added and removed using SpeedFeeders, stay completely motionless during the heating process.

Since the furnace does not require a roller conveyor, it needs one-third of the floor space required by a conventional system. The compact dimensions also help reduce heat loss.
