Press line expanded

Greenerd Press & Machine Co. Inc. has expanded its compression molding press line with increased tonnage capabilities up to 10,000 tons and bed sizes exceeding 240 in. The line is suitable for various compression molding applications, from automotive to electrical components, house wares, and appliances.
The presses feature a four-post design that minimizes deflection and lean back common in C-frame presses and ensures consistent die alignment, the company says. It also allows press loading from any of four sides and permits simple integration into production lines or manufacturing cells. A gib-guided slide withstands the demands of large dies and progressive dies that require off-center loading. Gibs are extra long and square at four tubular corners, which provides more accurate slide guiding and offers front-to-rear and side-to-side adjustment to maintain slide parallelism to the bed.
The ANSI B11R.2-1995 R-2000-compliant presses feature a degassing cycle that evacuates gasses from the mold while the part is curing. Four-corner leveling also aids part accuracy and consistency.
A touch screen operator panel allows hundreds of programs to be stored in the press control. This enables the press operator to change programs in seconds and ensures that parts are produced precisely the same way each time they are run. The control features and displays can be customized to meet specific user requirements.
