Flash monitor updated with new software, HMI
InspecTech has introduced improvements to I.B.I.S. (InspecTech B-scan Inspection System) flash monitor for the welded tube industry. The software and firmware have been enhanced, and the HMI has been updated and improved.
The test head of the flash monitor scans across the weld zone and adjoining parent metal, covering a band almost 2 in. wide. The ultrasonic system makes thousands of readings during each sweep, measuring both the material thickness and the outer surface profile.
The unit displays a set of Cartesian plots that are calibrated directly in engineering units (inches or millimeters) and used to define alarm limits and display allowable tolerances.
