Tube bending lubricant sticks to tubing for improved housekeeping
- September 16, 2014

- Tube and Pipe Fabrication
Metalloid Corp. has introduced Metdraw 6640 for the bending of ferrous and nonferrous tubing up to 5 in. dia. and 0.109 in. wall thickness. The lubricant is suitable for use on aluminum, aluminized steels, high-carbon steels, stainless steels, and copper alloy tubing.
The lubricant is oil-free and manufactured with biodegradable materials. It can be welded through without washing the lubricant off first, although the residual lubricant film can be removed with hot water.
The lubricant has a paste-like consistency that sticks to the tube to help improve economy and housekeeping. The product seals the surface of steel tubes to give extended corrosion protection during processing. The deposited lubricant film is nonstaining and compatible with postheat-treating processes.
