30-HP waterjet intensifier pump draws half the amperage of a 50-HP pump

Jet Edge Inc. has introduced the iP60-30, a 60,000-PSI, 30-HP hydraulic waterjet intensifier pump. Designed for waterjet shops with limited power, the unit draws 37 full-load amps at 460 VAC or 74 full-load amps at 230 VAC. It can produce 0.6 GPM of ultrahigh-pressure water at a continuous operating pressure of 55,000 PSI.

Like all of the company’s intensifier pumps, the unit features a tie-rod design that eliminates threads on the high-pressure cylinders, end caps, and hydraulic cylinders. This reduces the likelihood of cracking and increases component life. Matched metal components prevent galling of hydraulic components.

The pump includes a hydraulic accumulator to provide smooth hydraulic pressure, reduce spikes, and prolong hydraulic pump life, the company states.
