MC Machinery Systems Inc. has introduced the second generation of its Mitsubishi Waterjet product line. The new systems feature technology upgrades. The company says that beginning in early 2009, all of its waterjets will be manufactured in the U.S.
The 700 series CNC delivers advanced programming capabilities for high-precision machining. The unit is controlled on a 15-in., waterproof screen, with upgraded graphics and NC design to help simplify operation.
The waterjets also feature a new machine base design with 22-in. I-beam construction; 1.57-in. NSK ball screws; a stainless steel work tank that is completely isolated from the machine frame; a new bridge design; pump control completely incorporated into the NC cabinet; new crash protection that works in the X, Y, and Z axes; an autogrease system for ball screw lubrication; a new work table design in which slates are located by slots but height is set by a solid indicated flat bar; redesigned ITC (intelligent taper control) with a focus tube length of 2.99 in.; and a new HMI (human-machine interface) that helps simplify use of the control graphics.
