Welding machine combines capacitive discharge welding, bipolar MFC

Dengensha America has introduced the new Flexwave resistance welding machine and corresponding flexible waveform technology, which combines the capabilities of a capacitive discharge welding machine and a 15,000-Hz bipolar medium frequency converter (MFC).

According to the company, less thermal distortion and larger currents in shorter weld times are combined with the stability of an MFC to achieve high-quality parts. Current flow is managed effectively to improve weld quality and weld nugget quality, says the manufacturer.

The technology provides DC configuration of weld current values, which simplifies the setting of parameters. It also maximizes waveform flexibility to permit necessary parameter settings such as tempering, demagnetization, and upslope.
