Neff Press Inc. has developed a large hydraulic press for a forging customer in the oil and gas industry. The 2,500-ton, triple-action press offers a bed size of 100 by 96 in. with a 60-in. stroke.

The 40-ft.-tall, four-post press features 120-in. daylight and a 550-ton cushion. It is used to form and extrude a steel plate up to 4 in. thick at temperatures up to 2,400 degrees F.

Custom hydraulic clamping is included for quick die change and built to withstand the high temperatures. A two-position, hydraulically activated shuttle holds 30,000 lbs. of tooling.
