Striker 2018 CAD/CAM software updated with CNC punch programming automation advancements

Striker Systems has announced the availability of Striker 2018 CAD/CAM and nesting software, with significant advancements in CNC punch programming automation. This release addresses the unique requirements of CNC punching while advancing the technology with the objective of complete punch programming automation.

In CNC punching, with a multitude of tooling, tool placement, and machine options, optimum tool selection and fit can be a challenge for fabricators. Special tools, tool sequencing, microjoint placement, drop door support, and sheet repositioning also must be taken into consideration. As with previous versions, this software includes advanced automatic punching algorithms and flexible tool substitution capability, and the new release refines this technology to minimize or eliminate user intervention in the tooling process.

The program provides extensive configuration options that adapt to particular punching techniques, and it can remember punching preferences over time to become increasingly automated. The result is a reduction in programming time and increased throughput in CNC punching operations, the company reports.
