Hougen HMD906 magnetic drill helps increase tool life for carbide cutters

Hougen Mfg. Inc. has released the HMD906 high-speed magnetic drill for use with carbide annular cutters. With its high-torque, high-RPM motor, the drill cuts holes more efficiently with carbide than with standard magnetic drills, the manufacturer reports.

Two arbor configurations are available. The new arbor uses the toolless quick-change system for rapidly switching out different sizes of cutters that use the Fusion2™ or one-touch shank. The second arbor uses the rigid, two flat cutter mounting system. A two-stage magnet increases magnetic holding power by 30 percent when the drill motor is turned on.
