Dual-cylinder ironworker allows two operators to work simultaneously

Kaast Machine Tools has introduced the PS series multipurpose ironworker. Models greater than 70 tons have five workstations for punching, shearing, and notching, as well as two hydraulic pistons, each controlled by an independent foot pedal, that allow two operators to work simultaneously.
The machine is powered by an electric motor that produces 10 to 20 HP. The power from this motor is transferred to the hydraulic pistons. Models are available with tonnage capacity from 50 to 190 tons.
The workstations are notching, flat bar shearing, round and square bar shearing, and angle bar shearing (at 45 and 90 degrees). All of these workstations are under the control of a single pedal. The final workstation uses the remaining cylinder and foot pedal and can be used for punching or a certain degree of V bending (with a press brake tool attachment installed in the punching station) and offers stepless stroke adjustment.
The stroke of the pistons can be adjusted according to the thickness of the desired material to be cut. To assist in the shearing process of round and square bar or tube stock, an automatic backgauge is included as standard. This backgauge also allows for automatic feed shearing, with an included limit switch to activate the shear. An adjustable rear stop is included with the angle bar and flat bar shearing stations.
