Automatic band saw monitors cutoff jobs for accuracy

The Jupiter CN band saw from Pat Mooney Saws pivots from 0 to 60 degrees to set up a miter cut in seconds, the company states. The control can store 99 cutting jobs while minimizing scrap, states the manufacturer.

Cutoff programs are managed via the control keypad. The user inputs the desired length, number of pieces, and blade speed, and the machine monitors cutoff jobs for accuracy. The fully automatic saw features precision carbide blade guides with roller guides. It has a planetary gear drive with reductor unit and case-hardened and ground helical gears.

Variable blade speeds are 52 to 396 FPM. A blade breakage switch shuts off the machine in case of breakage. A motion detector senses if the blade stalls in the material.
