Castolin Eutectic offers EuTronic GAP 3511 DC Synergic welding, coating system for automated and manual applications

The EuTronic® GAP 3511 DC Synergic from Castolin Eutectic is suitable for manual and automated welding applications. The 8.4-in. touchscreen control panel displays all settings, and up to 1,000 memory locations are available for saving welding parameters.

Features include synergic mode and impulse welding functions, an inverter that delivers 10 ÷ 350A for powder applications, fully electronic gas control, second motor control card to operate a second powder feeder, and an extended automation interface. The unit uses a plasma transferred arc process in which a focused plasma arc allows for extra control for low dilution, smooth surface coatings and spatter-free welding beads, the company reports.

Applications include tool steel repairs and the rebuilding of cutting edges and stamping dies. The system can also perform hardfacing on products such as drilling tools, valve seats, mining machinery, and milling tools.
