Measurement system delivers instant, noncontact 3-D scan of wide area

Keyence Corp. has released a new model of its VR-3000 series 3-D measurement system. The machine allows an instant, noncontact 3-D scan of a wide area. It can measure rough surfaces, flatness, warping, and planarity. The user places the sample on the stage and clicks a button for measurement.

The machine can perform batch analysis among multiple samples simultaneously under the same condition. It compares measurement results directly to CAD data. The user can compare visual and numerical differences between design data and an actual sample, then export the scan back into CAD data.

With pass/fail inspection, the unit automatically determines if a part is good or bad based on user-defined tolerances.
