Zumbach’s PROFILEMASTER offers inline complex profile measurement, monitoring

Zumbach offers the PROFILEMASTER® system, developed from a core set of proprietary megapixel camera/laser modules and software technologies. The system is designed to perform measurement, monitoring, and surface flaw detection on steel rod, bar, profiles, wire, and cable.

The gauges are available in models for small precision profiles starting at 0.02 in., cold-formed tubes, and profiles, as well as hot or cold products up to 23.6 in. They are available with one to eight laser/camera modules to continuously measure the cross sections of moving profiles.

A PC-based processor combines the captured line images of the individual cameras to yield the momentary cross section of the profile. All relevant dimensions such as width, height, angle, and radius are computed to characterize the full cross-sectional picture. A graphic display of this data allows the product to be monitored during the production.
