Metal-cored welding wire designed for HSLA steel welding applications

Hobart Brothers offers two gas-shielded, metal-cored welding wires designed for HSLA steel welding applications. Tri-Mark® Metalloy® Vantage™ D2 and Tri-Mark Metalloy 80D2 wires provide high deposition rates and fast travel speeds along with the necessary mechanical properties to match the needs of heavy equipment manufacturing and structural parts applications.
According to the company, the Vantage D2 wire produces weld toe lines almost completely free of silicon deposits and with little to no spatter, reducing the time spent for parts preparation and helping to minimize postweld cleanup before painting or coating. The wire is suitable for single-pass fillet welds, and it produces almost no spatter when used with higher-content argon shielding gas blends. The wire is available in 0.045-in. and 0.052-in. wire diameters.
The 80D2 metal-cored welding wire is suitable for multipass welding and can be used on many types of weld joints and materials. The manufacturer reports that the wire provides excellent mechanical properties, especially when used with argon-rich shielding gas mixtures. It is available in 0.045-in., 0.052-in., and 1/16-in. wire diameters.
