Straus-Artys introduces percussion welding machine

Straus-Artys offers a percussion welding machine, providing welding time of about 10 ms and weld current of up to 100 kA. During the process, a joint is produced by a rapidly ignited arc and by the force which is generated by an electromagnet. Only one 50-Hz half-wave is used for the actual welding process.

The machine handles materials with high electrical and thermal conductivity, as well as workpieces with large cross-section and thickness differences.

This method is suitable for materials that can be processed on conventional resistance welding machines, as well as copper, tungsten, silver, molybdenum, nickel, and their alloys; workpieces produced by powder metallurgy; and high-melting materials.
