WSI’s 12,000-joule CD welder joins projection welding fasteners to coated materials

Weld Systems Integrators Inc. (WSI) has introduced a 12,000-joule capacitive discharge welder series. They are suitable for projection welding fasteners, with standard or ring-type projections, to hot-stamped, aluminum-silicate-coated materials; galvanized metals; and other coated materials.

The integrated welder design includes the company’s fast follow-up head and an active displacement system for graphing displacement for every weld. An inline force transducer measures actual weld force in real time.
