Entry-level press suitable for variety of applications

Nidec Minster has introduced the MP1-90 portal press, a single press platform that can be configured for either a shell or cupping application. It offers flexibility for a variety of applications.

Rated at 100 tons, the press is capable of 250 SPM in shell applications and 150 SPM in cupper mode. It features 3.94-in. shut height adjustment. The cast-iron frame and forged steel crankshaft contribute to low deflection characteristics.

Oil film bearings give the press precision bottom dead center repeatability, while the combination hydrostatic/hydrodynamic guiding system allows for precise slide guiding, infinite bearing life, and improved part quality, says the company.

The press includes a pneumatic clutch and brake and a hydraulic overload feature in the slide to protect the press frame and components in case of an overload condition.
